Apex Trader Funding rules changed completely for accounts bought since March 1, 2026. Evaluations are now one-time purchases with 30 days to hit the profit target, no consistency rule and no minimum days. The 50% consistency rule, payout caps and a six-payout limit apply only once you reach a funded Performance Account (PA), where you keep 100% of approved payouts.
Rules checked on Apex Trader Funding's help center on November 3, 2026. List prices are from Apex's website as of late October 2026.
Key takeaways
- Apex sells two evaluation types, EOD drawdown and intraday trailing drawdown, in $25K to $150K sizes, each with a Standard or No Activation Fee option.
- Evaluations last 30 calendar days, can't be reset or extended, and can be passed in a single day: there is no evaluation consistency rule.
- Both drawdown types fail the account the moment the balance touches the threshold, including open losses; the difference is how often the threshold moves.
- Performance Accounts pay 100% of approved payouts after 5 qualifying days, with a 50% consistency rule, a $500 minimum and a cap on each of the six payouts allowed per account.
- You can hold up to 20 PAs, but each needs two $50 profit days in every rolling 30 days or it is closed for inactivity.
- Apex frequently discounts evaluations by as much as 90%, so list prices are rarely what you pay.

Apex sells two evaluation types, EOD trailing drawdown and intraday trailing drawdown, each in $25K, $50K, $100K and $150K sizes. Every evaluation is a one-time fee, not a subscription. With the Standard option you pay a one-time activation fee when you pass; the No Activation Fee option costs more upfront and skips it.
| Evaluation (list price) | $25K | $50K | $100K | $150K |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| EOD, Standard | $490 | $590 | $1,190 | $2,190 |
| EOD, Standard PA activation fee | $109 | $129 | $139 | $159 |
| EOD, No Activation Fee | $1,090 | $1,190 | $1,590 | $2,490 |
| Intraday, Standard | $167 | $249 | $790 | $1,190 |
| Intraday, Standard PA activation fee | $89 | $99 | $129 | $149 |
| Intraday, No Activation Fee | $690 | $490 | $590 | $1,890 |
A note on these prices: they are Apex's list prices, and Apex almost always runs a site-wide sale. Discounts of up to 90% off evaluations are common; a 90% sale was running when we checked. Expect to pay far less than the figures above, and check the live price on Apex's site before you buy.
The same price applies on all three platform options: Tradovate, Rithmic and WealthCharts. Apex also sells five-account packs, and its pre-2026 "Legacy" accounts are back for a limited time with their own, older rules. Everything in this guide covers the current EOD and intraday products only. Accounts bought before March 1, 2026 keep the rules they were sold with.
What are the Apex evaluation rules?

Every Apex evaluation runs on a 30-calendar-day clock.
To pass an Apex evaluation you need to reach the profit target without the balance ever touching the drawdown threshold, within 30 calendar days of purchase. There is no minimum number of trading days, so a single good session can pass, and the evaluation has no consistency rule.
- The 30 days are calendar days, including weekends and holidays. The evaluation expires at 6:00 PM ET on day 30, and it can't be extended or reset. If you fail or run out of time, you buy a new one.
- EOD evaluations have a daily loss limit of $500, $1,000, $1,500 or $2,000 by size. Hitting it closes your positions and pauses trading for the session, but doesn't fail the evaluation. Intraday evaluations have no daily loss limit.
- Position size is fixed during the evaluation: 4, 6, 8 or 12 contracts by size.
- Hedging evaluations against each other is prohibited and closes the account.
- Once you pass, you have 7 calendar days to activate the Performance Account. Miss the window and the pass is lost.
The trading day resets at 6:00 PM ET, and a passed evaluation is marked as passed after the close. Apex's evaluation fees and access article covers the timing in detail.
EOD vs intraday trailing drawdown: how the Apex threshold moves

Apex EOD vs intraday trailing drawdown. Source: Apex help center, checked Nov 3, 2026.
Both Apex drawdown types set the lowest balance your account may reach, and both fail the account the moment the balance touches that level, including unrealized losses. The difference is when the level moves: the EOD threshold updates once a day at the close, while the intraday threshold follows your peak balance live, during the session.
| Rule | EOD drawdown | Intraday trailing drawdown |
|---|---|---|
| Threshold updates | Once a day, at 4:59:59 PM ET, from the closing balance | Continuously, from the highest balance including open profit |
| Enforced | In real time during the next session | In real time |
| Daily loss limit in the evaluation | Yes | No |
| Stops trailing in a PA | At starting balance + $100 | At starting balance + $100 |
Suppose you're trading a $50K EOD account. The threshold starts at $48,000. Close day one at $50,800 and it moves to $48,800; close day two at $51,600 and it moves to $49,600; a losing day leaves it where it is. On an intraday account, an open trade that briefly shows +$800 moves the threshold up $800 immediately, even if you then close the trade flat.
In a Performance Account, both thresholds stop trailing once they reach the starting balance plus $100 ($50,100 on a $50K PA). In evaluations it depends on the platform: on Rithmic and WealthCharts the threshold stops at the profit-target balance, while on Tradovate it trails for as long as the evaluation runs. Our EOD vs trailing drawdown guide compares this with other futures firms.
How does the Apex 50% consistency rule work?

The 50% rule rewards a steady spread of profitable days.
The Apex 50% consistency rule applies only on Performance Accounts. Your largest profitable day since the last approved payout must make up less than half of your net profit over the same period. Breaking it doesn't fail the account; the payout button simply stays unavailable until the share falls below 50%.
To find the net profit you need, divide your best day by 0.5. Suppose your best day on a $50K PA was $1,500: you need at least $3,000 of net profit since your last payout before you can request one. Losing days count, because the rule uses net profit. Apex's own example: a $1,000 day followed by a $200 loss leaves $800 of net profit, so the best day equals 125% of profit and you keep trading.
- The window resets after every approved payout, so each payout needs its own spread of profitable days.
- With no profit, or a loss, since the last payout, consistency can't be calculated and you can't request.
- Apex's article says the best day must be below 50%, but its own worked example marks exactly 50% as met. Aim to stay clearly under it.
Apex's consistency article has the day-by-day example, and our prop firm consistency rule explainer compares the rule across firms.
What are the Apex payout rules on a Performance Account?
An Apex Performance Account pays 100% of each approved payout once you have 5 qualifying trading days, meet the 50% consistency rule and hold a balance above the minimum. The minimum payout is $500, and each PA can be paid out at most six times before it closes.
| Requirement | $25K | $50K | $100K | $150K |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Qualifying day, EOD PA | $100+ profit | $250+ profit | $300+ profit | $350+ profit |
| Qualifying day, intraday PA | $100+ profit | $200+ profit | $250+ profit | $300+ profit |
| Safety net (drawdown + $100) | $26,100 | $52,100 | $103,100 | $154,100 |
| Minimum balance to request | $26,600 | $52,600 | $103,600 | $154,600 |
Only profit above the safety net can be withdrawn, and the safety net stays in place for the life of the account. The five qualifying days don't have to be consecutive, and there is no deadline to complete them, so the fastest pace is one payout a week.
| Max per payout | $25K | $50K EOD / intraday | $100K EOD / intraday | $150K EOD / intraday |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Payout 1 | $1,000 | $1,500 / $1,500 | $2,000 / $2,000 | $2,500 / $2,500 |
| Payout 2 | $1,000 | $1,500 / $2,000 | $2,500 / $2,500 | $3,000 / $3,000 |
| Payout 3 | $1,000 | $2,000 / $2,500 | $2,500 / $3,000 | $3,000 / $3,000 |
| Payout 4 | $1,000 | $2,500 / $2,500 | $3,000 / $3,000 | $3,000 / $4,000 |
| Payout 5 | $1,000 | $2,500 / $3,000 | $4,000 / $4,000 | $4,000 / $4,000 |
| Payout 6 | $1,000 | $3,000 / $3,000 | $4,000 / $4,000 | $5,000 / $5,000 |
Added up, a $50K EOD PA can pay out at most $13,000 over its six payouts before it closes; to keep going, you pass a new evaluation. Position size and the daily loss limit grow in tiers as the balance rises, from 2 contracts and a $1,000 limit on a new $50K PA up to 4 contracts and $3,000. You can hold up to 20 PAs at once, and each needs at least two days with $50 or more of net profit in every rolling 30 days, or it is closed for inactivity and any payout eligibility is lost.
Apex is not on our on-chain payout tracker, so we can't show a verified payout total for it. The full tables are in Apex's EOD payouts and intraday payouts articles.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Apex Trader Funding have a consistency rule?
Not in the evaluation. Performance Accounts have a 50% rule: your best day since the last payout must be under half of your net profit for that period before you can request a payout.
Can you pass an Apex evaluation in one day?
Yes. There is no minimum number of trading days. If you hit the profit target without touching the drawdown threshold, the evaluation passes after that day's close.
What is the difference between Apex EOD and intraday accounts?
The EOD threshold updates once a day from your closing balance; the intraday threshold follows your peak balance live, including open profit. Both fail the account if the balance touches the threshold. EOD evaluations also have a daily loss limit; intraday evaluations don't.
How much does Apex pay out?
Apex pays 100% of approved payouts on Performance Accounts. Each request is capped by account size and payout number, from $1,000 on a $25K PA up to $5,000 on the sixth payout of a $150K PA, and each PA allows six payouts.
What is the minimum payout at Apex?
$500 per request for every account size. Your balance must also stay above the safety net, which is the drawdown amount plus $100 above the starting balance.
Are Apex prices really that high?
The list prices are, but Apex runs frequent site-wide sales of up to 90% off evaluations, so most traders pay a fraction of the list price. Check the live price before buying.
